Homocysteine is an amino acid formed during the conversion of methionine into cysteine and the conversion of cysteine back into methionine. Adequate amounts of four essential nutrient cofactors are required to perform this conversion, namely vitamin B6, vitamin B12, folate and trimethylglycine (betaine), a chemical compound derived from choline. In the absence of these critical micronutrients, homocysteine levels can build up. High homocysteine levels have been associated with vascular injury and circulatory problems, impaired cognitive function, poor insulin metabolism, decreased bone density and other health issues.

Homocysteine Select™ provides meaningful levels of all four nutritional homocysteine factors in well-absorbed, bioactive and methylated forms.
